Ruthven
When I looked at the weather radar this morning, I thought I would get a couple of hours in before the rain came. A little shower went through as I drove to Ruthven, and my hopes of a banding "window" were diminishing. However, the rain lessened to a drizzle, and I opened a few nets and set up the ground traps, and did a rather early census, before it intensified.
I banded 6 birds as follows. 1 MODO, 1 BCCH, 1 SCJU, 3 AMGO, and 5 retraps.
There were a flock of 15 Double Crested Cormorants on the river.
